What does Green Olive Tree do?

Green Olive Tree is a US Navy veteran-owned managed hosting and server management company, founded in 2001. We provide proactive, 24/7 management of Linux and Windows servers, either on our own managed cloud and dedicated servers or on infrastructure you already run at AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Akamai, DigitalOcean, a colocation facility or your own data center.

Where is Green Olive Tree located?

Green Olive Tree is headquartered in Chesapeake, Virginia, and hosts customer servers through data center partners worldwide. Our support team is 100% US-based. We never route customers to overseas call centers.

Is Green Olive Tree a veteran-owned business?

Yes. Green Olive Tree was founded by Jon Berry, a 20-year US Navy veteran who was entrusted with US Naval nuclear power plants. The company applies the Navy core values of Honor, Courage and Commitment to how it runs customer infrastructure.

Do you offer 24/7 support?

Services & pricing

How much does managed server management cost?

Our standard rate for proactive management of a server you already own is $199.99/mo per server, for either Linux or Windows. Clients with multiple servers receive volume discounts, and load-balanced clusters and larger multi-server environments are quoted based on the whole environment.

How much does a managed cloud or dedicated server cost?

Managed cloud servers start at $159/mo and managed dedicated servers start at $449/mo. Both include full proactive management. Every configuration can be customized, including CPU, memory, storage, RAID and operating system.

Can you manage servers I already have at AWS, Azure or in my own data center?

Yes. We are provider-agnostic and manage servers wherever they live: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Akamai (Linode), DigitalOcean, colocation facilities, on-premises hardware, or our worldwide data center partners. There is no vendor lock-in.

Do you support both Windows and Linux servers?

Yes. Our technicians are equally proficient with both. On Linux we manage AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, Debian and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including cPanel & WHM. On Windows we manage Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025, IIS and Microsoft SQL Server.

What is included in proactive server management?

Proactive server management includes 24/7 availability and health monitoring, patch and update management, rebootless kernel updates on Linux, firewall management, security hardening, malware scanning, spam outbreak detection, log analysis, backup verification, performance tuning and full system administration.

Can you clean up a hacked WordPress site?

Yes. Hacked WordPress site cleanup is $199. It includes malware removal, a sweep for backdoors and rogue users, hardening recommendations and six months of web application firewall and DDoS protection. We also offer WordPress server performance reviews for $39.

Do you offer hourly or one-off project support?

Yes. Hourly support for Windows and Linux servers is $175/hr. It covers software installations, server optimization, security audits, migrations and any other administration work your team needs help with.

Do you offer server monitoring on its own?

Yes. Server monitoring starts at $9/mo. We are also certified Paessler partners and can license, deploy and configure PRTG Network Monitor for organizations that want to run their own monitoring.

Can you help design infrastructure for a new application?

Yes. Our infrastructure engineers evaluate your application and expected traffic, then design a cost-effective, highly available and scalable solution. Because we are vendor-neutral, we recommend whichever provider best fits the workload.
